Lupod has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These are our published standards for keeping children safe, how to report a concern, and what we do when we find a violation.
What is not allowed
The following is prohibited everywhere in Lupod, without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images, video, text, links, or anything that depicts, promotes, or sexualises the abuse of a child.
- Grooming, or any attempt to contact, befriend, or build trust with a child in order to sexually exploit them.
- Sextortion, and any request for, or sharing of, sexual or intimate content involving a child.
- Sexualised comments about, or sexualised depictions of, minors, and child trafficking or any facilitation of it.
Who Lupod is for
Lupod is built for university communities and is not intended for children. If we learn that an account belongs to a person below the minimum age to use Lupod, we remove it.
How we help prevent harm
- Every Lupod is private. People join by invitation or by approval of the space's owner, so content is not open to the public.
- You control your profile. You can make it private, decide who follows you, and leave any Lupod at any time.
- You can block anyone who contacts you, so they can no longer see or interact with you.
- Posts and the threads they start expire after 24 hours, which limits how long content stays in circulation.
- Space owners can remove members and content, and our moderators can remove content and suspend accounts across the whole platform.
How to report a concern
If you see something that may involve the abuse or exploitation of a child, report it straight away:
- In the app: use the report option on a post or a profile. Reports go directly to our moderation team.
- By email: write to contact@lupod.com with “Child safety” in the subject line. Please include the username, the space, and a description of what you saw. Do not forward or share the material itself.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What we do when we find a violation
- We review reports of CSAE as a priority.
- We remove the content and block or permanently suspend the accounts involved.
- We keep the information we are required to keep as evidence, and we report confirmed CSAM and exploitation to the relevant authorities, such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), and law enforcement.
- We cooperate with law enforcement and child-protection organisations in line with applicable law.
Report to the authorities directly
You can also report suspected child sexual abuse material or exploitation yourself:
- NCMEC CyberTipline: report.cybertip.org
- Internet Watch Foundation (UK): report.iwf.org.uk
